Roulin "Painted at the beginning of August
1888 in Arles. Exposed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, USA. Is an
oil on canvas, 81.2 x 65.3 cms. Vincent Van Gogh. The postman Joseph Roulin
was a very good friend of Vincent Van Gogh in Arles. Vincent did six portraits

all the different shades of blue. In the painting of the postman sitting
by the table, exposed in Boston, the blue colour domain the whole composition,
where the postman rests his arm in a green table.
The painted mentioned above is considered the best of the series of portraits
of the postman Joseph Roulin.
He also made several portraits of the Roulin Family, he would called the "the russians". But, after a while he learned to love and asmire these very simple and serious people.
