Short biography Vincent van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was born the 30 of March of 1853 in Groot-Zundert, Holland. In 1869 started to work in a company/signature of art distributors, having works of short duration. In 1887 Van Gogh began his religious studies, and between 1878 and 1880 he was a Evangelist in the Borinage, a poor county in Belgium. While he was doing his religious works, he decided to become artist.

Van Gogh admired much the work of Jean François Millet, also the artist Honoré Daumier. Being his first works, compositions on farmers, prioritizing the dark colors. Van Gogh lived in Brussels and several other places on Holland, before moving to Paris in February of 1886.

Once in Paris, he lived with his brother Theo, having an approach to the Impresionist painting and Post-Impresionist. Van Gogh worked briefly in and factory of Fernand Cormon, where he knew Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The artist also knew Emile Bernard, Edgard Degas, Paul Gauguin, Camile Pissarro and Paul Signac, in that period.
The Flowers, Portraits and scenes of Montmartre, like also a trowel of colors alive and brilliant, replaced his first works of dark tonalities.
Van Gogh worked in Asnières with Bernard and Signac towards 1887. In February of 1888, Van Gogh went to live in Arles, where he was in isolation and solitude, capturing the landscapes of the field and people. Gauguin followed him and both artists worked together. Van Gogh, in this time, undergo one of his first mental problems, in December of 1888. Van Gogh was hospitalized several times in the Psychiatric Hospitals in Arles, Saint-Rémy and the Auvers-south-Oise, until year 1890. Nevertheless, he continued painting. In 1890, Van Gogh was invited .aswell as Les Vingt to Brussels, where he sold his first painting.
The same year Vincent was presented in Hall des Indépendants in Paris. Van Gogh attempted against his life, the 27 of July of 1890, passing away two days later in the Auvers-south-Oise, France.
