Starry Night was painted in June 1889 in Saint-Remy, by Vincent Van Gogh He had "work attacks", trying to paint as much as he could because he was worried he would get worse and he could not be able to continue working.
Starry Nigh has clear a japanese influence, as Vincent
Van Gogh was fascinated by the japanese engravings and stamps. The composition
of Starry Night is brilliant, genial; the cypress crossing on the left
an side and still not taking over the importance of the town in the background
and the massive waving stars.
This painting is consider one of his masterpieces, which influenced very
much the painters of the German Expressionism, as well as the Norwegian
painter Edvard Munch.
